AII - Devourer

When the front lines fail, Oberon orders his special infantry into the fray. They have better armor, better weapons and are trained from early childhood rather than the five years for normal enlisters. They are given one weapon in particular that is the envy of the normal armies... The Devourer.

Built to withstand melee damage as well as the everyday blast damage taken by emission weapons, the Devourer is the ultimate guardsman's dream. The crystal inside is top quality and the sensor metals are inlaid with artistic hands. Everyone is built by a master craftsman and each one is slightly different.

SI forces will often request customized versions of these weapons with inlaid images of past battles.

Special Infantry forces utilize these weapons in phalanx formations where there are lines of pairs of soldiers; one has a Devourer and one has a shield device.
